Applications are now open for the first edition of the Premio Barnaba, a literary contest conceived by Museo Galileo and dedicated to unpublished autobiographical short stories. The prize is promoted in collaboration with the Fondazione Archivio Diaristico Nazionale di Pieve Santo Stefano, with the patronage of the Associazione Nazionale dei Musei Scientifici and ICOM Italia.
The call is open to all those who wish to share, through writing, a personal experience lived in a museum, considering it not only as an exhibition space but also as a meeting place for people with their ideas, interests, and passions.
The award only accepts unpublished stories, written in Italian, with a maximum of 30,000 characters (spaces included). All contributions must be submitted by March 31, 2024. The winner will receive a cash prize of €1,000 and the Barnaba Award 2024 plaque. All finalists will have their work published by the publishing house of the Museo Galileo.
