Yesterday, February 21st 2022, the Minister of University and Research, Maria Cristina Messa, visited Museo Galileo, after taking part in the opening ceremony of the academic year 2021-22 in the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio.
This is an event of particular significance for our institution, from this year recipient - together with the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan and the IDIS-Città della Scienza Foundation in Naples - of a stable annual contribution from the Ministry of University and Research of 1.5 million euros, according to the 2022 budget law.
The allocation of this ordinary funding confirms the important role played by Museo Galileo in the dissemination of scientific culture.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Florence Dario Nardella, the Regione Toscana Councillor Alessandra Nardini e the Rector of University of Florence Alessandra Petrucci.
The Minister was informed about major past events and ongoing projects by the executive director Roberto Ferrari and the scientific director Filippo Camerota.
