With the aim of raising awareness about the Florentine scientific heritage during the Habsburg-Lorraine Grand Duchy, Museo Galileo and Fondazione Santa Maria Nuova are organising a cycle of four thematic walks dedicated to the history of Surgery, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Pharmacy and Electricity applied to Medicine. Each itinerary will run from the Hospital of Santa Maria Nuova to the Museo Galileo, where the collections of surgical and medical instruments once belonging to the hospital will be visited.
Visitors will be guided through each theme by medical professionals, who will offer a timely and pragmatic interpretation of each specific topic.

Each walk will start from the Hospital of Santa Maria Nuova at 3.30 p.m. and end at Museo Galileo at 5.30 p.m.

A donation of €10.00 per person is requested for the visit.
The proceeds from the event will be donated to the Fondazione Santa Maria Nuova ETS and will help support the health needs and enhancement of the historical and artistic heritage of the Azienda USL Toscana Centro.
