Bibliotheca Perspectivae, an integrated environment of Museo Galileo's Digital Library, aims at providing scholars with a “library” on representation which contains rare and precious treatise sources from the period between the 15th and the 18th centuries.
Consultation is organised in different collections that - through structured detail sheets and mutual referrals - offer useful tools for scholars but at the same time open up to a wider public. Through an articulated structure in sections and the introduction of multimedia tools and content, the goal is to provide an innovative approach to the study of perspective and its sources. Semantic experimentation based on the language of the Nuovo Soggettario della Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Firenze has enriched the iconographic collection with subjects, creating an interaction between the two information systems and the optimisation of resources.
Scientific curator of the project “Bibliotheca Perspectivae” (currently available only in Italian) is Filippo Camerota, Scientific Director of Museo Galileo.
