A press conference was held yesterday, May 4 2022, to present Philippe-Claude Le Bas's Gregorian reflecting telescope, one of the very first instruments of this kind, made in Paris at the end of the 17th century.
The telescope, acquired by the Italian Ministry of Culture for the Direzione Regionale Musei della Toscana, has been deposited at the Museo Galileo, where it will be on display in the visitors' reception hall.

On this occasion, the Orbite Musicali festival was also presented to the public: four concerts throughout May especially conceived by the Conservatory of Florence and inspired by the association between music and science, with particular reference to astronomy.
