From 8th April to 25th September 2022 the MAUTO - Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile di Torino will host "MOTUS. Prehistory of the Automobile", a real journey through space and time to discover the milestones in the extraordinary history of "automobility" up to the invention of the automobile.
Thirteen items on display, physically reconstructed, and 3D models, ancestors of the car: from the ancient civilizations, Greek and Egyptian, to the Europe and America of the Industrial Revolution, through the Renaissance.
The exhibition is the outcome of a collaboration between Museo Galileo and the Sidecar Museum in Cingoli (Macerata), and is curated by Giovanni Di Pasquale, Historian of Ancient Science and Technology and Scientific Deputy Director of Museo Galileo, and Costantino Frontalini, Director of the Sidecar Museum. It is co-produced by Museo Galileo and Civita Mostre e Musei together with MAUTO. The physical reconstructions are made by the Sidecar Museum, Museo Galileo's Multimedia Laboratory is responsible for the production of 3D animations, while camerAnebbia creative studio is in charge of the interactive exhibits.
