Within the initiative “Giornata delle Famiglie al Museo” – whose 2021 edition will focus on the theme “Nothing happens unless first a dream” - Museo Galileo proposes on October 10, two special visits and a concert organized in collaboration with the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory of Music in Florence.

La visione dantesca del cosmo
During the activity, that will be held in Italian, kids will discover medieval Florence and the scientific instruments of the museum collections in relation to geography and to Dante's scientific knowledge. Particular attention will be paid to the description of natural phenomena in the Divina Commedia: from the movement of stars to physical and mechanical phenomena, up to the multiple manifestations associated with light.

Un museo da sogno. Sperimentiamo il museo!
Let's have fun using models and copies of instruments on display in the museum’s halls. We will discover the effects of centrifugal force, what kind of trajectory a projectile makes and how the “bizarre” mechanical paradox works. The activity will take place in Italian.
