A new Scientific Director

Starting from July 1, 2021 Marco Ciardi is the new Scientific Director of Museo Galileo.
Full Professor of the History of Science and Technology at the University of Florence, Marco Ciardi picks up the baton from Paolo Galluzzi – who directed the institution for almost 40 years – and joins Roberto Ferrari, who was appointed Executive Director last February.

"This appointment as Scientific Director is an honor and a great responsibility at the same time" said Marco Ciardi. "Paolo Galluzzi has always been a master for me and for all those of my generation, and he made Museo Galileo an international point of reference in the field of museum conservation, research activities and dissemination of the history of science and technology. On my part, I will try and cooperate to the activities of the Museum to the best of my ability, trying to make the most of the outstanding professionals of the institution".
