The project “Museo Galileo bridges the gap” broadens its horizons and reaches Pointe Noire in Congo.
On Thursday, June 13, the first Skype meeting between Museo Galileo and the Italian school “Enrico Mattei” took place, to celebrate the last school day and to start a collaboration that will link the two institutions during the next school year. The meeting, that represented an important moment for the cultural exchange between Italy and Congo, was attended by the teachers, the students and their parents as well as by representatives of the Italian Embassy in Congo, of the Italian Onorary Consulate, of the Società Dante Alighieri, of the Museum of the African Circle and of Eni Congo.
During the first part of the meeting, the teachers showed the results they achieved in the last school year and outlined their future aims, which include the increase of the staff – thanks to Eni Congo - in order to guarantee an ever greater quality of teaching and the spread of Italian culture abroad. It was then the students’ turn to show their work and, finally, Galileo appeared and talked about himself, his discoveries and the instruments he used and perfected.
