The competition, sponsored by Museo Galileo and the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio of Florence, was opened to the classes which were part of the project "Le Chiavi della Città" and during the school year 2017-2018, participated in either the Gioca e impara con Galileo workshop or in the Sulla nave di Amerigo Vespucci: alla scoperta degli strumenti di navigazione visit.
The group presentations were judged upon their originality, work involved and passion expressed. This year’s winners are invited to an award ceremony that will include a theatrical play between Galileo and his domestic helper named Piera held in the villa where he lived in the last decade of his life thanks to the University of Florence which has opened the villa on this occasion for this ceremony. After the play the students will have a chance to see the villa’s rooms where this great scientist lived, wrote, ate and slept.
Our congratulations to the four classes and their teachers that came up with the best presentations!
A big thank you to the Cassa di Risparmio of Florence for providing funds to cover the transportation costs for the students to get from their schools up to the villa overlooking the city of Florence.
