Visions of Space and Space Travel in the 1950s: Chesley Bonestell, Wernher von Braun e altri
Ronald Lacy, University of Florence
The conference will retrace the steps that led to the formation of space culture in the 1950s: ranging from Bonestell's space art to the articles in the widely read weekly magazine "Collier's" and to the books written by von Braun, Ley and Whipple which increased the fascination with space travel and also paved the way - by creating public support - for the development of the American space program of the 1960s.
Free admission subject to availability.
