The Biblioteca delle Oblate and Museo Galileo have been working together for some time to let the public know their important heritage made of scientific instruments, books and documents.
From their will to engage citizens in a common location, where the specific skills of library and museum become complementary, originates the project Amerigo Vespucci. Dall’Arno all’Oceano (Amerigo Vespucci – From the River Arno to the Ocean), a journey with dramatized readings, where an actor dressed as Amerigo Vespucci tells his story, expresses his emotions and reveals the secrets of navigation in a time when tools for orientation were very different from the current ones and yet sufficiently precise.
The initiative will take place at the Sezione Bambini e Ragazzi of the Oblate Library, where some ship models made by the Associazione Modellismo Navale in Pontassieve will be displayed. Reservations are required.
For children 6-11 years of age.
Max 20 participants.
