The ESO Exhibition is a travelling show produced by the European Southern Observatory which consists of three parts. In the first part, striking blow-ups of nebulae, galaxies, novae, and supernovae introduce visitors to the marvels of the universe. The second part illustrates the activities of La Silla European Southern Observatory in Chile, which is one of the most important and advanced observatories in the world. Special attention is given to the ambitious project Columbus, the largest optical telescope in the world. The third part is devoted to astronomy in Florence and is focused on the activities of the Arcetri Observatory and the Astronomy Department of the University of Florence. Ancient telescopes, optical instruments and a relief model of La Silla Observatory are also on display.
