Beautiful Minds. Nobel Prizes: A Century of Creativity

Florence was the only Italian venue of Cultures of Creativity, the Centennial Exhibition of the Nobel Prize created by the Nobel Foundation in Stockholm. Beautiful Minds focuses on the concept of creativity and the importance of creative milieus in the development of new ideas and the achievement of significant results in different fields. The exhibition presents the creative works of a selected group of 32 Nobel Laureates as well as the history of Alfred Nobel and the Nobel Prize through charming original artefacts, multimedia and dramatic films. The Florence exhibition included a special section created by the Istituto e Museo di Storia della Scienza and devoted to the 19 Italian Nobel Laureates and two important creative milieus – the Istituto di Fisica of Via Panisperna in Rome, where Enrico Fermi worked, and Giuseppe Levi’s school in Turin, where Salvador Luria, Renato Dulbecco and Rita Levi-Montalcini studied.
