In the 19th century the use of the new technique of photography led to noteworthy changes in the practice of science. The Museo Galileo conserves cameras, books, archival records, and photographs that testify to this change. Visitors to this exhibition can admire some of the instruments that are not on permanent display, as well as a selection of documents from the Museo Galileo’s research library. These exhibits testify to the pre-eminent role played by Florence in the development of a new approach to "doing science" and to documenting the world around us.
