The Italian Review of the History of Science is the outcome of a joint initiative by the Italian Society for the History of Science (SISS) and the Museo Galileo.
Born in 2021, the Review yearly records the historical-scientific writings published in Italy or promoted/sponsored by Italian institutions (monographs, essays in miscellaneous volumes, journal articles, e-books and articles published in e-journals; book-reviews are excluded).
Each issue is released every year in March and records the studies which have been published from January to December of the previous year.
The Review draws from the Museo Galileo collective database and also includes the bibliographic references suggested by the SISS members and by all the science historians who wish to give their contribution.
Although it does not aspire to the exhaustiveness and completeness of a bibliography, the Review aims to offer a broad overview of the historical-scientific writings published in Italy and to give a comprehensive picture of the historiographical lines and of the interest in the history of science, medicine and of technology.
