Dallo shaker alla lavatrice: forze apparenti utili e meno utili
An event organized for the National Braille Day
In collaboration with the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile e Ambientale (DICEA) of the University of Florence
21 February 2024 at 3:00 p.m.
We can experience apparent forces each time we use the lift, a salad spinner or when we are on a braking car; the effects of centrifugal force are transformed into a small show by a machine reconstructed from an original one dating back to the second half of the 18th century. Seismic action also produces an apparent force. We will simulate its effects on a pendulum, on an elastic solid and on structures made by the young users with superimposed solids. We will thus touch upon the meaning of seismic vulnerability.
Free admission.
The event will be held in Italian.
