The series of events, inspired by the exhibition “The City of the Sun. Baroque Art and Scientific Thought in the Rome of Urban VIII” (on display at Palazzo Barberini until February 11), offers nine city tours to discover palaces, churches, collections, scientific instruments, and masterpieces of art and sciences in seventeenth-century Barberini’s Rome. Guided visits are complemented by conferences held by main subject specialists in order to recall the period cultural climate, which was rich in inventions and political, religious, and philosophical debates.
This series of events is organized by INAF, Museo Galileo, and Sapienza Università di Roma.
Visits and conferences (Italian only) are accessible for free; reservations required at 39 06 94286425 (Monday-Friday 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm).
