In this difficult period of sanitary and educational emergency, Museo Galileo is launching a bridge to cover-the-gap through distance learning by offering two new educational activities.
Our English-speaking, mother-tongue docent will be pleased to provide teachers/professors and their students with video lessons that will be carried out, free of charge and upon request, through the digital platforms of their learning institute.
The activities are the following:
- "Galileo and His Telescope": a look into the making, uses and eventual discoveries of Galileo with his highly improved instrument. The lesson will also focus on important events in his life as well as how his astronomical observations and writings influenced his world and the models of the known universe.
- "History of Medicine: From A to Z": This activity will focus on some of the major contributors of medicine arising mostly from Italy. Emphasis will be placed on introducing students to the concepts of dissection, physiology, infectious diseases, spontaneous generation, hand-washing implications and vaccinations.
