Since February 2015, visitors from around the world have the opportunity to explore the Museo Galileo with Google Street View. The project is one of the initiatives of the Museum aimed to promoting the scientific heritage of the past while decisively spreading scientific culture in the present.
The virtual tour allows visitors to "take a stroll" down the halls hosting the permanent exhibition and the museum’s library. Visitors will be able to admire the 1,000 objects on display once belonged to the Medici and Lorraine collections, virtually crossing over 7 centuries of history of science.
You can start the virtual tour both from the Street View on Google Maps and the Google Cultural Institute where descriptions of some objects are also available.
Wherever you live in the world the Museo Galileo is now just a click away.
